Maj Choi, is currently working as a research planner at the CBR Defense Research Institute (CBRDRI) under the CBRN Defense Command (CBRNDC) of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. He plans and manages research projects on identifying and characterizing CBR agents. He worked on a few projects on biological defence as a researcher in the institute.
He had studied in University of Arizona to receive his M.S. in optical sciences, and Korea Advanced of Science and Technology (KAIST) to get his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. His main interest is in, but not limited to, detection of CBR agents through optical methods.
As a Korea Military Academy graduate and an active duty army officer, he also worked as a rifle company commander and a member of a divisional operation staff. He also worked as a physics lecturer at the Korea Military Academy.
