Lt. Gen. Richard Rossmanith Commander of the Multinational Forces Operations Command at the Multinational Joint Headquarters in Ulm, Germany.
Lt. Gen. Rossmanith began his career in the Bundeswehr in 1973, when he joined the Light Infantry Battalion 561 in Munich and obtained his degree in electrical engineering at the Bundeswehr University in Munich. In 1981 he became Company Commander, Mechanized Infantry Battalion 112 in Regen, Germany.
In 1993, he has served in the Federal Ministry of Defence in Germany, starting as part of the Armed Forces Staff and becoming Head of the Army future development section in 1999. Following this experience, he joined the Policy Planning Staff as Head of functional area in 2000 and becoming Deputy Chief in 2005.
In 1987, he also started his career within NATO as Assistant section chief for politico-military affairs with the German Military Representative to the NATO Military Committee in Brussels, subsequently becoming Branch Chief, NATO Headquarters BALTAP in Karup, Denmark in 1991. From 2006, he was appointed Chairman of Deployable Forces Coordination Group of SHAPE in Mons, Belgium. Since 2012, he serves as the Commander of the Multinational Forces Operations Command at the Multinational Joint Headquarters in Ulm, Germany.
